Tsunami In Indonesia ?

About 108 people were killed according to what I read today in Indonesia due to 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck in the Mentawai Islands area west of Sumatra late Monday, generating waves as high as three metres (10 feet) that swept away 10 villages, officials said.

And more than 500 are still missing. So sad, the world is really changing and calamities are happening everywhere around the world. Really sad to hear such disaster as this but we all need is to pray for protection everyday!

Benefits Of Eating Fish

Fish is known as one of the healthiest food for our body. So, I take a chance to read and search for benefits.

Asthma - children who eat fish may be less likely to develop asthma.

Brain and eyes - fish rich in omega 3 fatty acids can contribute to the health of brain tissue and the retina (the back of the eye).

Cancer - the omega 3 fatty acids in fish may reduce the risk of many types of cancers
by 30 to 50 per cent, especially of the oral cavity, oesophagus, colon, breast, ovary and prostate.

Cardiovascular disease - eating fish every week reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke by reducing blood clots and inflammation, improving blood vessel elasticity, lowering blood pressure, lowering blood fats and boosting 'good' cholesterol

Dementia - elderly people who eat fish or seafood at least once a week may have a lower risk of developing dementia, including Alzheimer's disease.

Depression - people who regularly eat fish have a lower incidence of depression (depression is linked to low levels of omega 3 fatty acids in the brain).

Diabetes - fish may help people with diabetes manage their blood sugar levels.

Eyesight - breastfed babies of mothers who eat fish have better eyesight, perhaps due to the omega 3 fatty acids transmitted in breast milk.

Inflammatory conditions - regular fish consumption may relieve the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and autoimmune disease.

Prematurity - eating fish during pregnancy may help reduce the risk of delivering a premature baby.

Nose Bleeding?

Have you experienced nose bleeding folks? I remember one of my officemate before he always had specially if it is too much hot. So , I tried searching about it and according to what I read it varies in different weather conditions. Not much serious but still need to be very careful.

Causes:
  • Trauma to the nose (nose picking, foreign bodies, forceful nose blowing).
  • The most common cause of a nose bleed is drying of the nasal membranes.
  • Tumors, particularly malignant tumor of the nose or sinuses.
  • The incidence of nosebleeds is higher during the colder winter months when upper respiratory infections are more frequent, and the temperature and humidity fluctuate more dramatically.
  • Use of "blood thinning medications" called anti coagulants.
  • Recurrent nosebleeds may be a symptom of an underlying disorder such as high blood pressure.
  • Inflammation of the nose or sinuses and cold may cause a nose bleed.
  • Deviated septum (when the partition between your nose is crooked), foreign objects in the nose, or other nasal obstruction may also cause nosebleeds.
    Symptoms
  • Bleeding from one or both nostrils.
  • Frequent swallowing.
  • Sensation of fluid flow in the back of the nose and throat.

5 Drinks That Help You Calm Down

Feeling stress? Find out what should you do.

Drink a glass of milk. It contains tryptophan, which as it is metabolized is converted to mood-boosting serotonin. Plus, its calcium, magnesium and potassium content may help keep blood pressure down.

2. Drink hot cocoa. Warm drinks raise your body temperature—a feeling we associate with comfort, so it triggers a similar response in our brains.

3. Order black tea instead of coffee. A study by University College London shows that drinking black tea four times a day for six weeks lowered the stress hormone cortisol after a stressful event.

4. Drink green tea—packed with theanine, which increases the brain’s output of relaxation-inducing alpha waves and reduces the output of tension-making beta waves.

5. Drink a glass of cold water, then go for a walk outside. The water gets your blood moving and the air invigorates by stimulating the endorphins that de-stress you.

These are all very helpful. Check out if it fits you.

Scars Natural Treament

I have many scars goodness! You cannot count on it.... This is because of my skin allergies month ago. Now, I am so paranoid looking for scars treament. I want natural or if I can buy something that can help.

So I tried looking on net for treatment and seems like good I found some.

#1: Aloe Vera

Whether in juice or gel form, Aloe Vera is extremely beneficial in treating scars naturally. The juice of the plant is actually a kind of natural bleach. Thus, applying them straight to an acne scar or any other kind of scar, it starts to reduce and then it vanishes. In fact, Aloe Vera is one of the top scar treatments for getting rid of even the worst acne scar.

#2: Cucumber

You may or may not know that putting cucumber slices over your eyes can reduce swelling and bruising. Cucumbers can also help reduce scars. In this instance, however, the cucumber needs to be made into a paste. You then apply it right onto your scar and leave it overnight. After a few nights of this, the scar will start to smooth out.

#3: Indian Gooseberry

This is also known as the amalaki. It can actually prevent scars from forming after a wound is healed. Thus it is also a preventative natural scar removal treatment which, quite frankly, is awesome.

#4: Vitamin E

Taking vitamin E supplements or incorporating foods rich in vitamin E into your food is a great way to get rid of a scar. Furthermore, this vitamin can make your wounds heal faster.

#5: Vitamin C

While you are still in the vitamin aisle, you need to pick up some vitamin C. It also helps to speed up the healing process. Specifically, it helps with blood clotting, which is essential to healing. When you use this, you should look for a natural scar treatment in cream form, or take it in directly, by eating foods with lots of vitamin C in them.

#6: Honey

A lot of natural scar treatment methods are derived from home remedies. Honey is a popular remedy for the treatment of scars. Supposedly, you can smear it directly on your scars and leave it there throughout the night. This needs to be frequently repeated so that the scar can heal completely.

#7: Tea Tree Oil

Many people insist that rubbing tea tree oil into your scars can help reduce them. People who believe in this method maintain, in fact, that your scars will vanish within days with this method. It needs to be repeated a few times a day.

#8: Green Tea

Another natural scar treatment involves blanching green tea, dabbing some up with a cotton swab, and then massaging your scar.

#9: Olive Oil

Massing your scar, or scars, with olive oil is said to make them disappear in just a few days. However, you have to repeat this natural scar treatment a number of times each day.

#10: Garlic

Last but not least, it is said that if you slice a clove of garlic in half and then rub it on your pimples, it will prevent any scarring later.

I will surely try some of these methods. Looks so great!

Sore Eyes Natural Treatment

I read a lot about sore eyes now! My goodness! I had that before it is so annoying and embarassing but nothing to do it is normal. In twitter trending topics are more about sore eyes. So , I try to find what are the treatment for sore eyes.
If you will go to the doctor of course the doctor will give you proper medicine but I found out some natural ways to cure sore eyes. Read below:

1.)You can try applying raw grated apples on the eyes for sore eyes natural treatment. One of the most easiest and effective ways of sore eyes treatment is applying a slice of cucumber over the eyes for 30 minutes. Rose water is also helpful in sore eyes treatment. Just soak cotton balls in rose water and place it on your eye as a treatment for sore eye.

2.) Another method includes adding a bit of salt to boiled water and dipping cotton balls in it. Then place the salted cotton balls over the sore eye for 5 minutes and get immediate relief. Another effective way of sore eye natural treatment includes use of coriander. All you need to do is crush coriander leaves in boiled water that is enough to wash your eyes 10 times in one go. When you get a light green color in water, strain the water and use it to wash your eyes. You should wash your eyes with this water as many times as you can in a day. Wash the eyes at least 10 times in one cycle.

3.) You can reduce the itchiness and redness in your eye by adding some fresh cow milk to a clean bowl. Then soak cotton balls in the milk and sprinkle some potash alum powder over the cotton balls. Then place the cotton balls over your eyes for a few minutes. This will help reduce the redness and itchy eyes.

4.)You can even use Chamomile tea or green tea bags and soak them in warm water. Then use the liquid to wash your eyes and the moist teabag can be placed over your eyes for reducing the itchiness and redness. Aloe Vera is very effective in sore eyes treatment. You can added some Aloe Vera extract to cool water and soak a piece of cotton cloth in the mixture. Then place this cloth over your eyes and gently clean your eyes with it.

5.)You can even try placing peeled slice of potato over the eyelids for about a quarter of an hour. Then wash your eyes and repeat if necessarily. You can even place cold or hot compress over your eyes as it is a very effective sore eyes treatment. But make sure the hot compress is not too hot that may cause eye damage.
Very useful tips folks. Try it!

One Week Vacation Is Done!!

It is a long week rest for me from school. It is a holiday for autumn here. All schools are closed. I enjoyed my one week stay at home. But it was great also because I did many things during the whole week, a bit fruitful and I was also able to visit a friend and did my medical test and other papers needed.

Now, tomorrow I will be back to school. Back to normal, wake up early and run for the bus every morning. I will try to make sure to have enough time so that I will not always be in a hurry. My heart beats too fasts every morning because I walk too fast and runa bit because the bus will be gone.

So hope for better time management for me!

Eating Lamb!!!

Have you tried eating lamb meat? Well, it is really really good. It is a tradition here in Norway in autumn to have it for dinner with boiled potato. I really like it. Then today we had it again and perfect dinner for me. I ate too much. Thanks GOd for the food! They called it 'fårikål'. Look at the photo below!

According to wiki: Fårikål is a traditional Norwegian dish, consisting of pieces of mutton with bone, cabbage, whole black pepper and a little wheat flour, cooked for several hours in a casserole, traditionally served with potatoes boiled in their jackets. The dish is typically prepared in early autumn. Fårikål is originally a dish from the Western part of Norway, but is now enjoyed in all parts of the country. Fårikål Feast Day is celebrated on the last Thursday in September each year

Benefits In Eating Carrots

Before I hate carrots, but the other day I tried eating one whole piece of carrot and it tasted so good. I heard many times from others that eating carrots is really healthy and good for the body. Since my hubby bought many fresh and crispy carrots I must try to eat from time to time. I read some facts about it tonight and indeed I am convinced to eat more and more.

Carrots contain a large amount of antioxidant compounds which help to protect against cardiovascular disease and cancer. The high intake of carotene has been linked with a 20 percent decrease in postmenopausal breast cancer and up to a 50 percent decrease in the cancers of the cervix, bladder, colon, prostate, larynx, and esophagus. Extensive studies have shown that a diet that includes at least one carrot per day could cut the rate of lung cancer in half.

Carrots also offer an excellent source of fiber, vitamin K, and biotin. They are a good source of vitamins B6 and C, potassium, and thiamine

Dandruff ???

Yay, it seems like I have dandruff. I start scratching now, grrrr! I feel like after my allergies now dandruff attacks? What a life..(please tantanan nyo na ako)! Before this will become more worst I must search for the cause and treatment. I am using a shampoo that protects against dandruff but maybe not effective... Goodness! What is this...

I found out some facts about dandruff: There are common beliefs about dandruff that I learn a lot from reading.

Is Dandruff due to dryness of the skin?
False. Dandruff is caused by a rapid turnover of cells, so more dead cells are shed from the surface. In fact, dandruff occurs in areas where the grease glands of the skin are most active, and the skin is not usually dry.

Is Dandruff more common in males than in females?
True. Probably because the grease glands are affected by hormones.

Is Dandruff affected by the weather?
Probably true. Sunlight inhibits the growth of the Malassezia yeast.

Is Dandruff results from poor hygiene ?
False. Dandruff is caused by rapid turnover of skin cells, probably as a reaction to the Malassezia yeast. However, dandruff sufferers do not have more of the yeast than other people – they are just more sensitive to it.

Is Dandruff contagious ?
False. You can not ‘catch’ dandruff from someone else, such as by using his/her brush or comb.

By Wearing a hat worsens dandruff ?
Possibly true. Pityrosporum ovale yeasts thrive best when protected from sunlight. Also, wearing a hat prevents sweat from evaporating, and this may encourage the yeast.

Now To Get Rid Of Dandruff Here Are What We Should Know !

  • Hair gels and other hair products can irritate the scalp in some people. For a while, try doing without whatever you have been using, or change to a different product.
  • Do not scratch your scalp. When you shampoo, massage your scalp without scratching. Scientists have looked at hair from dandruff sufferers who scratch, using an electron microscope that magnifies 400 times. They could see fingernail marks, damaging the hair at its root.
  • If your dandruff is mild, try shampooing your hair twice a week using any shampoo labelled ‘frequent use, for dry hair’ (not an ordinary ‘antidandruff’ shampoo). This will remove the flakes that are being shed, and the moisturizer in the shampoo will protect the scalp.
  • Avoid dyeing your hair (unless you absolutely must). We all have bacteria on our scalp, some of which are beneficial. These ‘good’ bacteria prevent dandruff yeast, and hair dyes reduce their numbers.
  • If you want to try a natural remedy, boil four heaped tablespoons of dried thyme in half a litre of water (just under a pint) for 10 minutes. Let it cool and strain it through a sieve into a jar. Massage some of the liquid onto your scalp three times a week. Do not rinse it out.
  • Look for a shampoo containing tea tree oil. Research from Australia (published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology in 2002) showed that a 5% tea tree oil shampoo improved dandruff by 41%, which means that, although it did not get rid of the dandruff completely, there was a noticeable improvement.
  • For more severe dandruff, you need to deal with the yeast. This means looking carefully at the small print on the antidandruff shampoo in your local pharmacy. You could start by trying a shampoo containing selenium sulfide, which has an anti-yeast effect. Wet your hair, rub the shampoo onto your scalp and rinse off. Repeat, leaving the shampoo for 3–5 minutes before rinsing off. Do not use selenium sulfide within 48 hours of applying a hair colorant or a perm lotion. Some shampoos contain zinc pyrithione, another anti-yeast chemical.
  • The most effective treatment is an anti-yeast shampoo containing ketoconazole which, in some countries, you can buy from a chemist without a doctor’s prescription. Wet your hair, rub the shampoo onto your scalp and rinse off. Repeat, leaving the shampoo for 3–5 minutes before rinsing off. Use it twice a week for 2–4 weeks to clear the dandruff, and then once every 2 weeks, using a normal shampoo in between times.
  • Antidandruff conditioners are also available.
This helps a lot. I will try to check more about this tips. Hope my dandruff wont get worst!!!

Perfect Weather For Summer

Today is the perfect weather for summer as my husband told me. We go out for walk again and no wind blows, no sun really perfect sa he said. As usual I enjoy picking up raspberries along the road. Soon those delicious berries will be saying bye as soon is winter time.

We still tried to find those old blue berries also. But they are now small and soon fade away also. I will miss them, as I love eating them while walking. Maybe all I can say is see you in next summer.
Anyway, just a quick updates for today! Still thanks GOD for all.

How To Get Rid Off Scars

Scars... Scars... Scars... I realized how ugly to have scars all over my body. I am sure this is what I got after those freaking allergies. My allergies are still acting , itching but not much. A big improvement in after one week of taking hard med.

Now, I can see they are getting brown and (di sa panghambug) , I have white skin complexion and they are all visible... Super visible. It is so ewhewww..... seeing scars in every corner. Grrr...! But in other way around, thank GOD for the healing power. Scars are just natural and will fade in time.

Now, some of my friends are telling me to apply oil , lotion and other options to get back the glow of my skin. But still I did not start applying anything. I am afraid if my skin will be irritated with other products again. Well, hope my skin will cooperate too! Please do...

I can maybe ask my doctor too , what he can advise me for scars problem.

The Importance Of Exercising

In Order to stay fit and right, you must have proper exercise everyday. Walking, jogging or going to gym for some workouts may help so much to maintain our body in shape and active.
I myself use to go with my hubby walking , and picking raspberries while walking. LOL! I really love eating fresh raspberry.

Just today we go outdoor and enjoy the sunny day without any blowing from the wind. Good time bonding and after walking went home east Pizza... LOL!
Anyway, I also research the importance of Exercising. We must know how to take care of our own wealth. So here we go:
1.) Exercising regularly can increased energy, our body becomes more ready and active at burning calories and will boost energy throughout the day.

2.) Exercising can increased Metabolism. I noticed it, before when I just work , eat and sleep I felt that my metabolism has a problem in digestion. It works too slow. As per some studies, every extra pound of muscle allows you to burn anywhere from 50-100 calories when at rest.

3.) It can improve muscle tone, yes I agree! If no exercise at all, no muscles too! No build up! I noticed it before when I also tried to go in gym twice a week. But then I also stopped! LOL! But in fairness I see some improvements on my muscle.

4.) It will give a better health. Exercise in many ways will lead to a better health. But remember that over exercising can weaken your immune system and make you sick. So just do it slowly but surely.

5.) It can reduce stress. Yes it is true , it can reduce stress. One way of releasing bad toxins from your with-in can reduce burdens and pressured.

6.) Can improved self-esteem: When following an exercise regimen for a regular basis, you bring about greater self esteem through the results and accomplishment achieved.

Iterax | Atarax

It is been more than a week since I take Iterax or branded name 'Atarax'. The doctor prescribed me with this anti itchy tablets. Since , I got my allergy worst weeks ago he advised me to take atarax and for sure I will get drowsy BUT what a result I am alive all night and day hahah... addicted?

I don't really know if that fits me well. At first , I took 3 times a day and then cut to 2x day and then once day and two days ago I stopped it! I feel like it is the reason why I cannot sleep well. But , of course I don't really know the cause maybe because of the other med that I still taking on now.

Well, I dont't know why I cannot really sleep at all. I tried and tried... nothing happens. Hoping for better sleeping moment...

In other way around maybe I have now insomia? But not so sure yet also. Whoaaa.... many speculations!

Aug 12, 2010

Good Morning World...

Thanks to GOD for another morning. Eventhough , I still did not get enough sleep but still thankful for everything he has done for me each and every minute of my life.

Do You Have Pimples Like Me?

I still have pimples on my face, back and shoulder until now. This is I think a heridetary from my blood. On my mom's side mostly her siblings has pimples except her. But I am so unlucky I got this pimples and not only ordinary pimples because it stayed for years for me specially in my back. So annoying. I tried many treatments but nothing happened. Sometimes it looks like calm but most of the time they are showing so active and have a red spot on my face.

Anyway, I am for sure I am not the only one who suffered pimples many are in the same situation and much more critical than mine. According to my reseearch there are many causes of pimples: they are caused when the sebaceous glands located at the base of hair follicles become overactive; the most vulnerable parts of the body are the face, back, chest and shoulders. Pimples are palpable signs of acne, especially when a breakout occurs.

So, I am bearing this pimples until now. I don't know what really is the exact treatment for this. I got many advices but still seems like nothing happened.

Look at here:

* More than 80% of teenagers get acne at some point.
* A community sample of 14 to 16 year-olds in the United Kingdom revealed that acne affected 50% of them.
* A sample study of adolescents in New Zealand found acne was present in 91% of boys and 79% of girls.
* A sample study of adolescents in Portugal found that the average prevalence of acne (in both sexes) was 82%.
* 30% of teenagers with acne required medical treatment because of its severity.
* General practitioners (GPs, primary care physicians) in the UK reported that 3.1% of 13 to 25 year-old patients visited them complaining of acne.
* The incidence of acne is similar in both adult males and females.
* Doctors report that acne appears to peak at 17 years of age.
* Acne incidence (presence, occurrence) in adults is increasing, doctors report. We don't know why.

So pimples go away!

Well, in family it is normal to have quarrel but not to the highest level.

Why Fit and Right?

Folks, I am just laughing at myself today. I have many tasks to do but then when I tried to check the new feature of blogger, it drives me to try the layouting and checking what's new and what came to my mind is to try new blog again! Wwwwhatta addicted! CERTIFIED...

Fit and Right because this will draw the journey of fitting anything that comes along my way. Discovery of what might right as it seems to be right!

Anyway, I am looking forward for another marathon attention with this new place.
